YAKINIKU Pro set | LARGE
What does the pro set consist of?
The pro set consists of a multilevel lift, 2 half heat shields and 2 half moon grilles. But what does this mean and what can you do with it?
- Multilevel lift
The multilevel lift is an accessory specially designed to increase the cooking space in your Kamado and make cooking easier. It allows you to cook several foods at the same time on different levels, giving you more control over cooking time, temperature and flavour. The multilevel lift allows you to divide the Kamado into different zones. The lower you put the food in the Kamado, the hotter the dish can be cooked faster.
This Kamado accessories set is indispensable for any Kamado lover looking for a complete set for preparing the best dishes on the Kamado. This set consists of a multilevel lift, 2 half-heat shields and 2 half-moon grates specially custom-made for the Large Kamado. These accessories make it possible to prepare different types of food at the same time.

The multilevel lift allows you to divide the Kamado into different zones. The lower you put the food in the Kamado, the hotter the dish can be cooked faster.
- 2 half-moon heat shields
A heat shield is a ceramic plate that serves as a barrier between food and the fire. When you place 1 half-moon plate on the multilevel lift, it allows for both direct and indirect grilling. But when you place both half heat shields in the Kamado, you turn your Kamado into an oven, so to speak, and you can cook your food in a gentle, low way. More on how to use the heat shield is in our blog 'How to use the heat shield'. In short, a heat shield is a valuable addition to your Kamado as it helps regulate heat, prevent burning, increase versatility and protect both your food and the Kamado itself. It makes the grilling experience even more enjoyable and allows you to prepare tasty dishes every time.
- 2 half-moon grids
A grid is of course indispensable in a barbecue but because these are 2 half-moon grids, in combination with the multilevel lift, you can very easily determine the distance between the coals and your grid on both sides and you can always achieve the perfect cooking per ingredient.
What types of cooking can you perform?
When you buy the pro set, you can actually try out all kinds of preparations, but one of the biggest advantages is that you can split up the Kamado, so to speak. So you can make several preparations at the same time. The half heat shields make it very easy to grill indirect and direct zones at the same time. If you use a heat shield, you go for indirect heat, without the heat shield you grill with direct heat. This way, you can see what the best preparation method is for each ingredient and adjust your set-up accordingly. On our website, we have an inspiration page with all kinds of delicious recipes prepared on the Kamado. Using the pro set, you can basically recreate all these dishes! Take bread, smoked sea bass, lamb tandoori and dozens of other tasty dishes.
How to use the pro set?
You can use the BBQ accessories set in different ways and for different purposes. We have listed a number of preparation options for you below, along with the appropriate set-up of your pro set:
- Grilling: grilling is perhaps the most popular preparation method on the Kamado. You can grill your ingredients using direct and indirect heat. When you want to grill on direct heat, place your half-moon grid at the bottom of the multilevel lift, this way your products are closest to the fire and you can quickly sear the food. When you want to grill on indirect heat, make sure your grill is on the top level and put a heat shield at the bottom of the lift, if necessary.
- Smoking: Smoking is very easy using the Kamado. Combined with our range of smoking wood and chunks, you can give your dishes the most delicious smoky flavour. The set-up you need for this is as follows: place the 2 heat shields at the bottom of the multilevel lift and place the 2 half-grills on the top level. You can add the smoking wood via the Woodchipper, which means you lose little to no heat.
- Baking: You can also use the Kamado as an oven. By placing the heat shields at the bottom of the multilevel lift, you create a heat barrier. This ensures that the air can circulate well and your dish can cook evenly. In addition, you can use the pizza stone to bake bread, pizza, pies or other desserts.
- Steaming: steaming is also a popular preparation method. This is often done in combination with a steamer basket, for instance, but can also be done with aluminium foil. When steaming, you use indirect heat because direct heat can cause the steaming process to be disrupted and the food to burn at the bottom. This means that you place the heat shields back at the bottom of the Kamado and the grid or steamer basket at the top.
Any good cooking starts, of course, with good fuels. We have a wide range of charcoal including Marabu and Acacia charcoal. We have a blog on our website where we explain in detail which charcoal is suitable for the Kamado and why, so be sure to take a look here for additional information.
For which models?
This pro set is specifically for the LARGE Kamado, but we also have a pro set for the XLARGE Kamado. This barbecue accessories set also includes a multilevel lift, 2 half heat shields and 2 half moon grates. Using this pro set is equivalent to the pro set for the LARGE Kamado. Unfortunately, we do not have a pro set for the MINI Kamado, Kamado 13 inch, Kamado MEDIUM and the XXLARGE Kamado, but we do have the separate BBQ accessories such as a heat shield, grate and grill lifts for these models.
Additional accessories
Need even more space? Then go for the extra raised grid. This creates no less than 70% more grilling surface. So you can prepare even more dishes at the same time. This grid is also ideal if you want a better overview of the various preparations on the Kamado.
The whole and half Teppanyaki plates are also great additions. Teppanyaki literally means 'grilling on an iron plate'. Our blog 'How does a teppanyaki plate work' explains in detail how it works, so be sure to take a look at this page for all the tips and tricks.
The cast-iron grid is a must have for serious grillers. You can use the cast iron grid to get a quick and beautiful print on your ingredients. With the cast iron grid, you get perfectly seared meat, preserving the juices well and keeping the meat nice and tender. On our maintenance page, there is an explanatory video on how to maintain your cast-iron grid.

How to season a gas grill for the first time
Unlock the Secrets of Grill Seasoning! 🔥🔧
Ever wondered what it means to season a grill? 🤔 No, it's not about sprinkling herbs and spices, but a crucial process known as 'curing.' Heating the metal grates, adding oil, and letting it cool helps protect your grill from rust and extends its life.
Why Season Your Grill Before the First Use?
When your brand-new grill hasn't met fire, neither have its grates. Seasoning is like training it for its inaugural feast. Uncoated grates, especially cast iron and carbon steel, are prone to rust without this protective process. Locking in oils not only prolongs their life but also enhances grill marks and imparts that smoky outdoor barbecue flavor we all love.
How to Season Your Grill for the First Time: 🌟
- Place your clean grate on the barbecue over medium heat: Clean brand-new grates or those collected dust need a quick kitchen cleanup. For used grills, a wire brush is essential.
- When hot, apply a small amount of oil: After 10 minutes of heating, apply oil evenly. Canola or peanut oil works best, but coconut or vegetable oil is fine. Turn the grill to high heat for 15 minutes to let the oil cure.
- Let the grates cool: Once the oil reaches its smoking point, turn off the barbecue, and let the grates cool. You may repeat the oiling process for a brand-new grill.
- Wipe away excess oil: After cooling, wipe any excess oil with a cloth or rag. Your grill is now seasoned and ready for action!
